I'm Unique, But I'm Alone, 2021

For this series, I was inspired by chameleons’ camouflaging skill, in which they change colors not only to camouflage, a way of protection, but to communicate with others as well. This led me to think about the ways we respond in a societal setting. People want to blend into a certain group of people or community to not feel alone and feel belonged to the majority. Honestly, no one wants to be alone, but there are always people who stand out more and get excluded due to certain qualities or "uniqueness." In this case, the polka-dotted character is the “unique” one, who gets excluded.
